Historical version 8 of Locale SE1 (view current version)

Postal district in South London covering (from west to east) Lambeth North, Waterloo, Borough, Southwark, and some of Bermondsey, as well as Elephant & Castle and Old Kent Road in the south. It is shared between the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.

It borders postcode areas SE16 (the rest of Bermondsey) to the east, SE15 (Peckham) and a tiny sliver of SE5 (Camberwell) to the south-east, and SE11 (Lambeth) and SE17 (Walworth) to the south. SE1 also has a very long border along the River Thames, across which it neighbours SW1 (Westminster) to the west, WC2 (Embankment), EC4 (Blackfriars) and EC3 (the City) to the north, and E1 (Wapping) to the north-east. Crossings of the Thames are provided by (from west to east): Vauxhall, Lambeth, Westminster, Hungerford (foot and rail), Waterloo, Blackfriars, Millennium (foot), Southwark, Cannon Street (rail), London and Tower Bridges.
