A friendly Australian-run cafe off Goodge Street.
Charlotte Place may be a tiny little pedestrian side-street, but it's already got possibly the best sandwich shop in Fitzrovia (Salumeria Dino), a pretty decent burrito place, and Blackfoot Butchers (a new charcuterie outpost of the apparently ever-expanding Dehesa/Salt Yard tapas group).
If you can possibly make it past any of these, Lantana is every bit up to the standard set by their opposition, so yet one more reason not to bother with the Pret on the corner.
On the street itself at lunchtime, is set up a small takeaway stand with sandwiches and soup available.

A particular focus for the cafe is clearly their extensive breakfast menu, which is served from 8am-noon. Fry-ups are avoided in favour of some very tasty-sounding combinations.
Local Australian-run cafes already have proven expertise in making coffee, so this will also undoubtedly be excellent, and Ewan looks forward to adding a review of this as well in future. Most of the coffees hover around the £2 mark.
