Good Beer Guide pub in Westminster.
Has four real ales on, of which two will normally be interesting (according to an advert in the Aug/Sep 2008 London Drinker magazine, the two regulars are Young's Bitter and Shepherd Neame Spitfire). They seem to showcase a different brewery every week. Also has regular beer festivals it would seem. On our November 2007 visit, Spitfire was £2.70 and Young's bitter was £2.60; both were drinkable (note that "drinkable" is a term of praise, coming from Bob). On a January 2009 visit Spitfire and Young's bitter were still on. The two specials were a Bramble Stout(£3.30) and Dark Star Espresso Stout. Crisps are 60p
Food seems to be a selection of sandwiches. The menus were still out in the evening so you may be able to get food then too.
The pub itself is quite small with the bar dominating most of the space. Was quite busy inside at 6pm but got quieter as time went on. Some of this may have been because it stopped raining so the smokers went outside.
On the January 2009 visit there were a couple of tables left at 18:15 and it then filled up some more by 20:00 the pub was mostly empty.
Note that it doesn't open at weekends.
