Randomness Guide to London - Differences between Version 12 and Version 11 of Beer Shop, SE15 3QF
Contents are identical
Micropub and, er, beer shop in the centre of Nunhead.
Inside, this takes the form of a small square-ish shop space laid out with a few long tables, a very low table near the door, and some stools along the front of the window. Decor is a stripped-back aesthetic with brightly coloured walls painted by a local artist (the website indicates this will change regularly).
The bar is just a small counter from behind which the two proprietors will venture to approach customers, as there's not really space for more than one to stand there. There are no handpulls but instead a number of cask beers on gravity behind the bar, as well as some boxes of ciders. On Ewan's December 2014 visit shortly after opening, three casks were featured, all very local ones (Brockley Pale Ale, Brick Brewery Blenheim Black, and Head in a Hat Trilby, brewed in Brockley, Peckham and Herne Hill respectively). Pints are priced at £3.50 each.
There's a list on the blackboard of upcoming cask ales (all generally South London ones), and there's a menu of bottles as well, which covers a good range of styles and countries. They also have a small selection of wine, spirits and soft drinks. Beers are available to takeaway in cartons.
There was no sign of any food available on my visit aside from a few pub snacks.
Accessibility: There's no step to get in, and a single toilet to the rear of the space.
