Category: Micropubs
Micropubs are a type of "back to basics" pub focused on socialising. They are generally small, single-room shop conversations; they serve interesting real ales, usually direct from the cask; they don't play piped music; they encourage strangers to strike up conversations with each other; and they generally don't do food other than bar snacks.
The Micropub Association defines a micropub as: "a small freehouse which listens to its customers, mainly serves cask ales, promotes conversation, shuns all forms of electronic entertainment and dabbles in traditional pub snacks".
