Steak restaurant and bar in Putney. It has a bar area in front with a restaurant at the back.

Martin, bob and Phil visited on a Thursday night in May 2010. When we turned up there were several tables available, but the restaurant section was full by the time we left.

The menu PDF is quite brief and is all about steaks and burgers — vegetarians have a "choice" of one starter (grilled halloumi) and one main (halloumi burger). We skipped starters and went straight for steaks, since we wanted to get back for another pint at the Bricklayers Arms which is just round the corner.

Phil and bob both had the 14oz fillet steak (£22) photo (whole), photo (halved). bob's was cooked perfectly blue, but Phil felt his was a bit overdone in places (we suspect this was mainly because it was quite thick). Martin went for a 21oz rump steak (£25) photo.

We had a selection of sides (all £2), which were all pretty good photo 1, photo 2. The peppercorn sauce (£1) was adequate, and the harissa mayonnaise (£1) was almost hot enough for bob.

Despite the call of the beer, we were tempted by the dessert menu photo. bob chose (and enjoyed) the apple and blackberry pie (£5) photo, which was served with ice cream as the pie topping. Phil was less happy with his apple crumble (£5) photo — he felt it should have come with custard instead of ice cream, but we weren't given the option.

Accessibility: Level entrance. Disabled toilet available. Other toilets are downstairs.
