Japanese restaurant just off Piccadilly, down a side alley (Piccadilly Place) a little to the west of Le Meridean Hotel. It's only small, so it's worth booking at weekends. It's very traditional and formal, and the sushi is wonderful quality. It's also a bit expensive, even for sushi in London.
The first time [Flick]? visited, the menus were terrifying. I'm not sure if it's a traditional way of doing it, but rather than a list of food items they have a series of diagrams showing a plate with (say) three sections on it, then a list of items that you can have in each of those three sections. The fish is wonderful, though, as is the sake (huge range).
If you fancy a Japanese overdose, try Minamoto Kitchoan for pudding.
They also have a takeaway site, Delicatessen Yoshino, at 59 Shaftesbury Avenue, W1D 6LF (this used to be in the basement of the Japan Centre).
