Mikado is a takeaway Japanese restaurant close to Blackfriars station and City Thameslink station.
It is primarily a place for City workers to get lunch. Prices are extremely reasonable for the area, with a sashimi bowl running at £5, nigiri and maki combinations of 4-6 pieces at £2-4 and soups for £1-2. It also has a hot buffet with pan-Asian standbys including spring rolls, teriyaki chicken and steamed dumplings.
The sushi is nothing to write home about, but is perfectly decent and very good value. The tempura was a little greasy on Kerry's last visit, however.
