Tube/rail station in zones 3 and 4, serving the Richmond branch of the District Line, and the Silverlink North London Line.
The eastbound and westbound platforms are connected by a bridge over the lines.
The most obvious reason for travelling to this station is to visit Kew Gardens.
Facilities
- Photo booth outside the barriers on the eastbound side.
- Newspaper/sandwiches/tea and coffee kiosk outside the barriers on the eastbound side.
- Small espresso/cappuccino kiosk (Puccino's) on the eastbound platform. Not open in the late evening (8pm).
- Ladies' and gents' toilets on the eastbound platform. Didn't check whether they were open/working.
There's a fish and chip shop just outside the exit from the westbound platform. Also a corner shop/off-license, and a Chinese takeaway (“Kew Gardens Chinese Takeaway”).
More stuff outside the main exit on the eastbound side: Starbucks, Oddbins, Tesco Express, Barclays and Natwest cashpoints (one is directly outside the station, the other down the road a bit), an ironmonger, a bookshop of some kind, Pether Butchers (a traditional butcher's shop offering free-range meat), and a pub called The Railway (the pub actually has a view onto the eastbound platform, via large plate-glass windows).
