Historical version 13 of Castle, SW11 3HS (view current version)

A Young's pub in Battersea. As of late-2008 it's advertised as being under new management.

This is a spacious pub, with plenty of tables in several different spaces around a central bar. There is also an extensive beer garden area on two sides of the pub, with a large canopy and patio heaters in the front area, by the (fairly quiet) high street. Inside is an open fire and couches nearby, which gives it a cosy feel in winter. Service is very friendly.

There are four handpulls for ale on the bar, serving Young's ordinary (£2.80/pint), Special, and Courage Director's Bitter. They also have Erdinger, Staropramen and Peroni on draught, among others.

Food is served noon-3pm and 6pm-10pm Monday to Thursday, noon-10pm Friday and Saturday, and 11:30am-8pm Sunday. Good food on ilmari's August 2007 visit, with £5 lunch specials, and a varied (and varying) menu. There is a tapas menu and Sunday roast.

Free wireless internet; you get the WEP key from the bar.
