  • * PUB NOW CLOSED ***

For another great pub very close by, try Two Chairmen, just off Cockspur Street (carry on down Haymarket, turn left, then right).

Hidden away in the backstreets behind Piccadilly Circus is this surprisingly large pub.

The beer is well-kept, the food DrHyde's had was also good, and prices are quite reasonable for the area. It gets very busy around 6pm, obviously, but quietens down after a short while.

There are two large bars, one on the ground floor and one upstairs. The upstairs bar appears to be where they stick all the pre-booked groups, with various areas reserved when I visited. But they're happy to let you book anything from the whole bar down to just a single table.

It attracts a good class of customer - the evening I was there, most of the upstairs bar was booked out by the Royal Society.
