Today, there's seating for 10 or 11 people at regular tables inside, plus several high-ish stools at narrow counters running along the front windows, and a few more tables on the pavement outside. The decor is cream, pastel, and light wood, with mini flower vases on each table echoing larger displays in the corners of the room. |
The ground floor is small and crammed with seating, with even a sofa at the far end. The basement is a little less cramped, housing just three booths with low tables, each with room for 5-6 people to sit around. |

[[Kake]] visited on a Tuesday morning in September 2018. There was a small queue when I arrived a little before 12:30pm, but this was quickly dealt with. There were only a few spare seats, and I had to share a table (a notice on the wall encourages this, and also asks people to "be considerate with laptops"). |
[[Kake]] and [[Sarah]] visited on a Monday evening in November 2011 (note however that as of early 2012 they no longer open in the evening except on Thursdays). When we arrived shortly after 5pm there were already several people in, a fair few of them with laptops. The upstairs was mostly full but there was still some room in the basement. Staff were helpful and attentive — one of them saw me brushing crumbs aside on the table and dashed over with a cloth. |
During the day, the place functions mostly as a coffee shop, with cakes and things on offer, but when they're open in the evening they also have wine and savoury food available; on our visit the food switchover happened around 6pm. |

A cheddar, creamed corn, and spinach sandwich on sourdough bread (£4.80) <small>[https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/30623322138/ photo]</small> was pretty good. The cheddar was flavourful without being overwhelming, the corn was neither too sweet nor too creamy, and the bread was very fresh with a lovely chewy crust. Breakfast tea (£1.50) was fine. |
We had a few glasses of wine (served in water glasses) as well as a bread/cheese/meat platter <small>[http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/6406016983/ photo]</small> and a couple of extra-large sausage rolls <small>[http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/6406064417/ photo]</small>. It was all good quality, the cheese was a very generous portion, and they were happy to give us a refill on the bread. They told us that they source their cheese from a place in Peckham and their bread from Tottenham, and they make their own butter (it was indeed good butter). |

As of September 2018 they don't take cash — it's cards only even for small amounts. They also don't have WiFi. |
Accessibility: Can't remember if there's a step to get in, but in any case it's pretty cramped on the ground floor. The toilet, along with some of the seating, is in the basement down a flight of stairs with a handrail that only goes partway down. |

Kake and Sarah visited on a Monday evening in November 2011 (note however that as of early 2012 they no longer open in the evening except on Thursdays). When we arrived shortly after 5pm there were already several people in, a fair few of them with laptops. The upstairs was mostly full but there was still some room in the basement. The resident pug was wandering around during our visit, which made Sarah rather happy. Music was playing, not too loud.
