Zone 1 rail station on the Circle and District lines. It's the next station south from City Thameslink on the Thameslink lines; the line splits south of here to go via either Elephant & Castle on a little tour of south London taking in Sutton and Wimbledon, or London Bridge to East Croydon, Gatwick, and eventually Brighton.
Note: Due to the upgrade works mentioned below, the railway part of Blackfriars Station is closed until 17 January 2011.
It's also a Tube station, but due to major works (part of the Thameslink Upgrade programme), the Tube part is closed until 2011.
