Comment added by Kake: Eight handpumps - Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen, Bass, and two marked as guests, Thwaites Nutty Black (1.30/half) and J W Lees John Willie's. Menu says food served noon-9pm Mon-Sat and noon-6pm Sun (last orders 15 minutes before end of serving times). Newspapers including Mirror and Sun (and three others whose mastheads I can't see). Pool table and dart board. One step up to get in at at least one of the two entrances. Picnic bench seating out the front. Music, but not too loud, and not very recent. Fairly standard pub food, but a wide selection of it, including Quorn sausages and mash (6), grilled salmon (6.50 including potatoes and veg), and cooked breakfast (6). Not a risotto in sight. Children's menu 4.00. Sunday roast every week. |
