Large Victorian pub adjacent to Kentish Town Station.
Note: The Assembly House was substantially refurbished in early 2011. Our comments below predate this.
Central bar with two main seating areas either side. Another room to the rear with glazed roof lantern. Large South facing windows make this a good place for sunny winter weekend days. Architecturally interesting with many original features still in place, including plaster ceilings, timber panelling and decorative mirrors.
Unpretentious in comparison with the many gastropubs in the area.
Good quality food, veering towards the pricy side, although portion sizes usually justify this. Food is served noon-3pm and 6pm-10pm Monday to Friday, and noon-10pm Saturday and Sunday.
