Good Beer Guide pub in Edmonton.
Although it's a single-room pub, the room is quite large, and the pool table/dartboard area to the right of the bar has a different feel from the seating area to the left. There's some picnic bench seating out the front too.
Kake visited on a Saturday afternoon in December 2008. The eight handpumps on the bar offered Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen, Bass, and two marked as guests, Thwaites Nutty Black (£1.30/half) and J W Lees John Willie's. A rack held half a dozen newspapers including the Mirror and the Sun. Music was playing, but not too loud, and not very recent.
As of December 2008, food is served noon-9pm Mon-Sat and noon-6pm Sun (last orders 15 minutes before end of serving times). The menu offers fairly standard pub food, but a wide selection of it, including Quorn sausages and mash (£6), grilled salmon with potatoes and veg (£6.50), and cooked breakfast (£6). Not a risotto in sight. Children's menu £4. Sunday roast every week. There's also a specials board, but I didn't get a close look at it. As well as this, a board outside advertises an "in-house fish & chip shop", eat in or takeaway, noon-10:30pm Mon-Sat.
Accessibility: Two steps up to get in at at least one of the two entrances - not sure about the other one. Ladies' on same level once you're in - not sure about gents'.
