Mitchells & Butlers Castle pub near Blackheath Station.
It's quite loungey inside, with lots of sofas. There's a part-covered non-smoking patio garden out the back, and a roof terrace for smokers.
Kake visited on a Thursday afternoon in May 2011. There were two real ales on: London Pride and Timothy Taylor Landlord. A pint of lime and soda was £1.05 and came with slices of real lime.
Music was playing, but fairly quietly. It was quite dimly lit inside. There was at least one baby and one older child in, so it appears to be child-friendly.
According to the Railway website as of May 2011, food is served noon-10pm Mon-Sat and noon-9:30pm Sun. The menu is fairly standard for a Metro Professionals pub; that is, on the interesting side of normal pub food photo of the main menu as of May 2011, photo of the bar snack menu as of May 2011.
Accessibility: A steepish but fairly short ramp to get in. Another ramp to get to the patio garden. Not sure if there's step-free access to the roof terrace. A step to get to the ladies' (and the cubicles are quite small), but there's a separate accessible toilet.
