Native Hop is a cafe and organic food shop on Streatham High Road, opposite Streatham railway station. It sells a limited selection of organic foods and health drinks and serves a small selection of mostly West Indian dishes.

As of March 2011, they offer sandwiches at £2.75, fresh salads at £3 (or £3.50 with fish or bread), jacket potatoes at £3.70 and fried chicken or fried fish with rice for £5.50. Dish of the day with salad is £4.50; on the day of itsbruce's visit, this was a chicken curry with couscous and sweet potato. There is also a selection of freshly baked cakes and (very large) muffins.

There is only seating for four inside but there is a covered area on the pavement outside, facing the very busy high road photo.

On a March 2011 visit, itsbruce tried the fried chicken with jolof rice and some fresh salad photo. The chicken was a little dry and quite mildly flavoured, the rice was plentiful while the salad was drab with very little dressing. The slice of banana cake to follow was nice but nothing exceptional. The final bill (including a cherry and cranberry soft drink and a coffee) was £12.20.

itsbruce's verdict: Healthy food served in generous quantities, but unimaginatively cooked. I feel no urge to return.

Accessibility: There's no step to get in, but the space inside is cramped photo and the toilets are downstairs.
