Locale: Loughborough Junction

An area of eastern Brixton, on the way to Camberwell along Coldharbour Lane. It is centred primarily around the junction of several railway lines at Loughborough Junction Station (though not all the lines have stops there). It falls largely between the SW9 and SE5 postal districts, though south of Coldharbour Lane begins SE24 (and is thus often referred to as Herne Hill).

It has in the past had a bad reputation for crime and drugs as one of the ungentrified areas of Brixton, but as with many parts of central London, this has slowly changed over the years. In 2009, the Loughborough Junction Action Group formed with the goal of improving the quality of life in the area. Although the area is still dominated by the imposing tower blocks of the Loughborough Estate, behind these can be found the attractive [Myatt's Fields]? park. On the eastern side, near Denmark Hill Station is [Ruskin Park]?.
