Shepherd Neame pub in Belgravia.

The decor is upmarket traditional; the patterned carpet on the floor is relatively subdued, the paraphernalia is restricted to a single backlit display of bits and pieces, and the stools, chairs, and banquettes are upholstered in matching subtle brown pleather.

Around half of the small single room is taken up by the horseshoe bar with gantry above. Nevertheless, it doesn't feel overly cramped despite having a decent amount of seating.

Kake visited on a Friday afternoon in September 2018. It was quite full when I arrived around 2:15pm, and I was lucky to get a seat; it got quite a bit emptier over the next quarter hour, though. No music was playing, but the flatscreen was showing cricket with the sound on quietly.

The five handpumps on the bar were clipped for three Shepherd Neame ales: Whitstable Bay, Spitfire, and Master Brew. A pint of lime and soda was £1.80.

Service was a little distracted — I had to ask for ice in my lime and soda, and I also had to ask for my change.

According to the Duke of Wellington website as of September 2018, food is served noon-3pm and 6pm-9pm Mon-Sat and noon-3pm Sun.

Accessibility: No steps to get in, and no steps to the bar, seating, or toilets.
