Vietnamese supermarket in Deptford. Previously known as Ngan Hung photo, it changed its name to Dat Cang some time around 2009-2010.
It's larger inside than it looks from the front, as it also includes the space at the back of the next-door estate agency. The focus is on Vietnamese products, but they also have a few things from other East and Southeast Asian countries including China and the Philippines.
A dozen huge sacks of rice, practically obligatory in this kind of shop, sit in the front window, and there's a similarly-obligatory dried noodle aisle tucked away to one side. Freezers next to the noodles are filled with galangal, lemongrass, taro stems and tubers, pandan leaves, lotus roots, seafood, offal, and meat.
There's a very small selection of fresh vegetables at the back, primarily onions, shallots, and garlic. A fridge next to this holds items such as fresh tofu, preserved duck eggs, pork floss, tiny dried prawns, various pickles, and Chinese sausages.
When Kake visited in April 2016, the staff member on duty was friendly and welcoming, and very helpful in finding the things I was looking for.
Accessibility: No steps to get in. The aisles aren't notably wide, but they're not horribly cluttered either.
