The Carlton Tavern was a pub in Kilburn/Maida Vale. It was demolished without warning in April 2015.

The information below is retained for historical purposes.

Pub in Kilburn/Maida Vale.

Features of its past life are still visible, including Charringtons tiling on the outside. It's divided into two halves internally, likely reflecting a previous division into public bar and saloon bar. The "public bar" side is sparsely decorated, and has a dartboard, fruit machine, and at least one flatscreen. The "saloon bar" has a different style, with battered (possibly purposely) leather sofas, ornate plaster moulding on the ceiling, and books lined up along the windowsills photo. There's also a back room (possibly not always in use) with a piano and a pool table, and there are a few picnic benches out the front for the smokers.

Kake visited on a Wednesday afternoon in July 2013. There were no other customers when I arrived around 2pm, and this remained the case throughout my visit. The flatscreens in the "public bar" side were showing some kind of TV programme with the sound on loud enough to filter through to the "saloon" side.

The two handpumps on the bar were clipped for Young's Special and Hardy & Hanson Olde Trip. A pint of lime and soda was well over £3 (though I have omitted to note down the exact price).

Accessibility: A step to get in. There's an accessible toilet reached via the back room. Other toilets are in the basement, down a flight of stairs with a bend in the middle and a handrail on part of one side.
