Pub in South Ruislip.
It's traditional without being old-fashioned; there's a patterned carpet on the floor, padded banquettes around the walls, and wood-and-glass privacy screens here and there, but the upholstery is in good condition, and the fabric and wallpaper patterns are relatively subtle.
The space is L-shaped and open-plan, with obvious signs of the removal of at least two interior walls. Flatscreens are mounted here and there, and a pool table stands in its own space to the side of the bar. Seating is a mix of tall stools, low armchairs, regular upright chairs, and banquettes. Out the back is a decent-sized beer garden covered with picnic tables; mainly grassed, with a small patio area next to the building.
Kake visited on a Thursday afternoon in February 2018. There were a handful of other customers in when I arrived around 1:30pm. Music was playing (Heart Radio), not quite too loud, and the flatscreens were showing horse racing with the sound off. Service was friendly enough despite the "regulars only" sign on the door photo.
The three handpumps were clipped for Hobgoblin, London Pride, and Old Speckled Hen. A pint of lime and soda was £1.20.
According to the menu as of February 2018, food is served noon-9pm Mon-Sat and noon-7pm Sun.
Child-friendliness: According to a sign on the door in February 2018, children are welcome until 7pm but must be supervised at all times. They have a small children's menu consisting of sausage and chips, nuggets and chips, and macaroni cheese.
Accessibility: A step to get in at the main entrance. There may be step-free access via the other entrance but we haven't checked this. No steps to the ladies', and one cubicle has a door that opens outwards. There's also a RADAR-locked accessible toilet on the level. The pub has its own car park.
