Beza Ethiopian Food, SE17 1AY

Beza was an Ethiopian pop-up cafe in the Artworks, a cluster of shipping containers which closed down at the end of 2018. Beza closed with it, but has since opened a proper cafe around the corner on Sayer Street.

The information below is retained for historical purposes.

Like most Ethiopian food it is very vegan friendly, with more vegan dishes than meat ones on the menu.

It does takeaway and delivery via Deliveroo and UberEats; however, you pay a lot more for it to be delivered — as of February 2018, a large meat dish is £8 on their website, but the same delivered is £15.50 with a £2.50 delivery fee on top.

secretlondon has had a couple of deliveries from here, most recently in February 2018. You get more options when you order via UberEats — large portions and a mixture of dishes. It comes in a box which is lined with injeera. A portion of spicy sauce is provided separately. I found it a bit under seasoned for my taste — it's not bland, but it's more bland than I'd expect for this cuisine. This may well fit with it being targeted at a non-Ethiopian audience. It has the option of rice instead of injeera and according to some reviews serves hummus.
