Bella Italia is a large chain, so DrHyde wasn't expecting much. In fact, solely because it is a chain I didn't really want to eat there because chains are almost always rubbish. However, the area around Epsom High Street has nothing else. There's what looks like a poncy bar, a couple of sandwich shops, and a dodgy burger shop, and that's it. So the chain restaurant was the best choice of a bad lot.

And I was pleasantly surprised. Service was a bit scatty but was at least quick and they fixed their mistake (a wrong starter) without being asked to do so. My pizza was cooked properly and full of flavour and everyone else (I was with a party of nine) seemed satisfied. The seats were comfortable. The lunch-time prices were reasonable.
