There's clearly a lot of history to this greasy spoon, and it's situated firmly in a part of Islington which continues to resist gentrification.

There's nothing disappointing about the quality of their fry-ups, even judging from the vegetarian version I sampled. The low price (£3.90 for the veggie version) even includes a good cup of coffee (or tea).

The staff are very friendly, the cafe is spacious, and the tables large enough to accommodate food and papers. There's no pretence here, just good traditional cafe fare.
