We haven't visited since the takeover, so the comments below may be out of date (and those regarding the real ale options almost certainly are).

The bar has four handpulls for ale, with Jenning's Bitter available, though Marston's Pedigree was off on our late-evening mid-week visit in August 2009. When [[bob]] visited in March 2010, Brakspear Oxford Gold was £3.05/pint. Draught lagers include Staropramen and Hoegaarden.

A large pub and hotel opposite Waterloo Station on the main road, near Waterloo East Station, owned by the Marston's pub chain.

Given its size and location, this pub is always reliably packed, though it offers plenty of space filled with tables. The bar is split into two halves, though the seating space has been largely opened up, with entrance doors on either side of where the train lines and pedestrian link to Waterloo East bisect the building.

The bar has four handpulls for ale, with Jenning's Bitter available, though Marston's Pedigree was off on our late-evening mid-week visit in August 2009. Draught lagers include Staropramen and Hoegaarden.

Even near to closing time, around 11pm, the place was still lively and animated.
