The Shipp's Tearooms is located on Park Street at Borough Market, between Monmouth and Neal's Yard Dairy, next to the Market Porter.

The atmosphere is really nice and the decor makes you feel like you're in a doll house. Each table, linen, tea pot, flower bucket, cups and maybe even chair and spoon is different from the others.

It's a tearoom and tea is the only drink you will find here with no coffee or hot chocolate available for order.

  • Ceylon 1 - Pure Ceylon, Earl Grey & Orange Pekoe
  • Postcard Teas - Golden Assam & First Flush Darjeeling
  • East Teas - Green Jasmine & Sencha
  • Organic Herb Trading Co. - Organic Peppermint Leaf & Organic Chamomile Flowers

A [wide range of cakes] all looking delicious including Victoria sponge, carrot cake, scones and delicious Chocolate cupcake. There is some salty bits available as well on the menu and deals for several people.

The place was fairly busy when we went (around 4.30pm on a Friday) but got a table straight away. People seems to spend a lot of time in and turn over was low. The tearoom is supposed to close at 5.30 on week days but we've been able to stay until 6.15 without feeling inconvenient.

A tea pot for 2 with two cakes cost us about £12.
