Shipp's Tearooms was a tea shop in Borough Market. It closed for good in June 2008 after it was [http://www.london-se1.co.uk/news/view/3359 ordered to cease trading] by the Borough Market trustees. As of mid-2009, the space is occupied by an Italian cafe/deli known as Best Italian; see [http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/638402 Chowhound thread].
The Shipp's Tearooms is located on Park Street at Borough Market, between Monmouth and Neal's Yard Dairy, next to the [Market_Porter,_SE1_9AA].

Sadly,
the shop is no longer allowed to sell food or drinks due to an issue with the Market lease. The place is still open though, selling porcelains and other tea-time related accessories which is a bit sad considering how nice it was.

The place was fairly busy when Katrien and [[Aurelien]] visited (around 4:30pm on a Friday), but they got a table straight away. People seem to spend a lot of time over their tea, and turnover was low. It's supposed to close at 5:30pm on weekdays, but we've been able to stay until 6:15pm without feeling in the way.
