As a local cafe, this is a nice one, with comfortable seating at predominantly large tables (so if you're a small group, you may have to share at busy times). The lighting is kept moodily dark, which makes reading the papers (the establishment provides a good little selection) somewhat difficult towards the back. However, the coffee is good and plentiful and there is food on offer (mostly salads and deli platters, as well as toasted sandwiches).

Moonbow Jakes is, however, licensed and opens until 11pm, putting on live music events which are advertised on its website. Drinks are also listed on the menu.

The service, unfortunately, is somewhat perfunctory, and you will have to ask at the counter to look at a menu.
