It's a relatively large space, filled with high-backed burgundy pleather chairs flanking dark wood-effect tables. Large cream tiles cover the floor, and the decorative brickwork of the walls is painted black, giving quite a smart effect. There's a small stage to one side, next to a sofa/armchair/banquette section. A bar runs along the wall opposite, equipped with keg fonts and lined with tall stools.

Kake visited on a Friday lunchtime in November 2018. There were no other customers when I arrived shortly after their opening time of noon, and this remained the case throughout my visit. Music videos from BritAsia TV were playing on the flatscreens, not too loud.

Vegetable manchurian (£6) photo consisted of mashed vegetable fritters in sauce; the fritters were nicely soft without falling apart, and the sauce had a good sweet and savoury flavour. Garlic mari mogo (fried cassava; £6) photo was unfortunately overly hard, and the salt was more prominent than the garlic.

Service was a little confused; they seemed a bit surprised to have a customer, and although there were at least four staff members in I had to go up to the bar to ask for a refill of tap water.

Accessibility: A ramp to get in. No steps to toilets. Almost all of the seating is also on the level.
