Note: The pub was closed following flood damage in August 2013, and according to the Oct/Nov 2014 London Drinker it remains closed as of late 2014.
Still toeing the line between being a traditional pub with old-fashioned fittings, and being accessible for the increasingly gentrified local community. There's plenty of space inside for drinking, as well as lots of tables out the front of the pub on the (busy) street.
There are a few ale pumps, with Adnams Bitter and Wadworth 6X on a visit in May 2008, as well as the usual range of lagers.
Food is served noon-3pm and 5pm-10pm Monday to Friday, noon-10pm Saturday, and noon-9pm Sunday (though the Sunday roasts, including a vegetarian option, are only served noon-5pm). There is a space in the back of the pub where music gigs are hosted occasionally, as well as an open mic night (Tuesday). They have a special Monday offer of two pizzas and a bottle of wine for £20, and on Tuesday two pizzas for £15. There's a pub quiz on Thursday evenings, as well.
