Samuel Smith's pub in Fitzrovia, and (according to the Wikipedia link below) the pub that Fitzrovia itself is named after.

Note: The Fitzroy Tavern underwent a major refurbishment in 2015-2016, and reopened in October 2016. We haven't visited since the refurb, and so some of the information below may be out of date.

It gets very busy at lunchtimes and after work, though on a sunny day many of the drinkers will be outside. Downstairs is a separate bar which is often used for functions and on Wednesday nights becomes the Pear Shaped Comedy Club.

The usual range of Sam Smith's beer is available, though nothing on handpump. Prices are low as expected.

Food is served, from 6pm in the evenings, and covers a small range of pub staples (pies, macaroni & cheese, and the like). All the mains are served with either mash or chips, and vegetables or beans and cost £6. There is no option to order smaller dishes such as chips separately. Ewan's vegetarian pie was much like ones he's had at other Sam Smith's pubs: a fairly dry crust, but with cheesy filling and decent mash. Nothing particularly special, but pretty good value all the same.
