The Devonshire was a Gordon Ramsay gastropub in [[Locale Chiswick|Chiswick]]. It closed in June 2010 after [http://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=leisure&page=restaurantfires001.htm a kitchen fire] and never reopened.

The site was later [http://twitter.com/#!/DrapersArms/status/73885311712763904 acquired] by the people behind the Drapers Arms in Islington, who [http://twitter.com/#!/devonshirepubW4/status/87864842853163008 reopened it] as the Devonshire Arms in July 2011 but [http://www.caterersearch.com/Articles/21/02/2012/342404/Devonshire-Arms-in-Chiswick-closes-less-than-a-year-after.htm closed it again in early 2012]. It [http://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=leisure&page=thedevonshire019.htm opened again] under new management in May 2012, positioned as a traditional local rather than a gastropub, but [http://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=leisure&page=thedevonshire020.htm closed again] the next month.
[[Bob]] visited on a Thursday night in March 2008. There were plenty of free tables but it wasn't quiet either. Can probably seat about 50 in the dining area. The drinking area is of an okay size but has very few seats. Obviously you come here for the dining, and once you've sat down there is table service.

The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like as Gordon Ramsay's Devonshire.
The menu consists of about six dishes for each course. There are specials for the starters and the main. Your waitress will tell you what they are.

On our visit we started with the Langoustines (&pound;8.00) <small>[http://flickr.com/photos/rjw1/2347787015/ photo]</small> and the Honey-Seared Beef with Stilton (&pound;7.50) <small>[http://flickr.com/photos/rjw1/2347789119/ photo]</small>. The beef was fantastic, delicate and only slightly cooked. There was quite a bit of marbling. It was very tasty. The stilton was okay but I think the dish didn't really need it.

For dessert Richard had the Cheesecake with Prunes (&pound;4.50) <small>[http://flickr.com/photos/rjw1/2347861411/ photo]</small> and thought it was really good. I had the rhubarb fool with a ginger biscuit (&pound;4.50) <small>[http://flickr.com/photos/rjw1/2348691004/ photo]</small>. The rhubarb was really good as was the biscuit. I would certainly have it again.

London Pride was &pound;2.80 and quite drinkable. Admittedly not as goog as some of the other pubs nearby. A service changree of 12.5% is added to your bill.
