It's larger inside than it looks from the front, as it also includes the space at the back of the next-door estate agency. The focus is on Vietnamese products, but they also have a few things from other East and Southeast Asian countries including China and the Philippines.
Previously known as Ngan Hung [http://flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/2849764296/ photo], it changed its name some time around 2009-2010 to Dat Cang, possibly in connection with the early-2010 opening of Dat Cang restaurant a couple of doors along. According to [http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/d73e85eaefd45a42f4915b693370c094/compdetails Companies House data], Dat Cang is simply the new name of the old Ngan Hung company. However, we haven't visited since the name change, so the comments below may be out of date.

A dozen huge sacks of rice, practically obligatory in this kind of shop, sit in the front window, and there's a similarly-obligatory dried noodle aisle tucked away to one side. Freezers next to the noodles are filled with galangal, lemongrass, taro stems and tubers, pandan leaves, lotus roots, seafood, offal, and meat.
On a September 2008 visit, [[Kake]] noted that the fridge at the back has fresh tofu, as well as a small range of fresh vegetables and herbs. There's a reasonably sized instant noodle section, plus curry pastes, soup bases, etc. Mock duck, mock chicken, and mock abalone are available in tins in the left-hand section of the shop. There's also a small selection of snack foods near the door.

There's a very small selection of fresh vegetables at the back, primarily onions, shallots, and garlic. A fridge next to this holds items such as fresh tofu, preserved duck eggs, pork floss, tiny dried prawns, various pickles, and Chinese sausages.
Although the space is quite large, it's relatively sparsely used. There's also a mix of Asian and British foods (e.g. John West tuna).

When [[Kake]] visited in April 2016, the staff member on duty was friendly and welcoming, and very helpful in finding the things I was looking for.
Note that despite the opening hours on the door, it was closed the last couple of times [[Kake]] went past on a Saturday (4pm in September 2008, 12:30pm in October 2008), so we're not sure what's going on there.

Accessibility: No steps to get in. The aisles aren't notably wide, but they're not horribly cluttered either.
[[Kake]]'s verdict: It's not a particularly exciting example of the genre, but presumably it does the job for those who live in the area.
