Historical version 6 of Crown And Two Chairmen, W1D 3SB (view current version)

Pub in Soho, serves real ale, real cider, Belgian beer, and good food.

The downstairs is full of smokers and TV sport; the good bit is upstairs in the non-smoking lounge, which has sofas, cushions, and even a standard lamp and recliner chair.

The day we visited (May 2007), the available beers included Broadside, Crop Circle, Greene King IPA, Belle-Vue Kriek, and some form of Frambozen. They also had Addlestones cider. On the non-alcohol side, they offer acai (doop, can you expand on this a bit?). Timothy Taylor Landlord has also been spotted in the past, but was off that day.

Varied and interesting-looking food menu, including plenty of vegetarian options (such as butternut squash and sage risotto, £6.90) and some that looked potentially vegan. Kake tried one of the "light bites" — smoked trout served with horseradish cream and buttered brown bread (£4.90). It was good, and not an insubstantial portion. Sandwiches are also on offer, costing £4.60–£4.90; worthy of note is the fish finger ciabatta sandwich. Burgers are £7–8. Platters and sharing dishes feature things like olives, hummous, and baba ganoush. They do a selection of desserts, all at £3.50, and a cheese board at £5.50.

Food is served noon–10pm.

Last visited by Kake and davehodg on 10 May 2007. Food prices and times taken from printed menu in pub, 5 May 2007.
