A small, relaxed North Indian restaurant on Brixton Road, focused on craft beer matching. Each dish on the menu has a recommended beer (there's one real cider too). They also offer a tasting flight of 1/3rd pints.

Kat visited with a friend on a Thursday evening in March 2018. We hadn't booked; while there were plenty of tables available at 7pm it was almost full at 8.30pm (there seemed to be a steady stream of customers arriving from the Crown & Anchor pub directly opposite).

It's a sharing plates setup: we were recommended to order two dishes each from the main menu. A sizeable starter of poppadoms (£1.50) came pre-dressed with a mix of chutneys/sauces. The duck kathi roll (£7.50) was pretty good, with a nice balance of spices. The vegetable curry (£7.50) was less successful - plenty of big veg chunks but it was more of a spicy soup, with lots of heat and sadly not much flavour. My accompanying 'Booma' Lager (£3.60 for 2/3 pint) was enjoyable but I'm not sure it complemented the curry well. Khumb chat (tandoori mushrooms, £4) were a highlight though - I'd order them again.

Service was fine if a little sporadic; the staff were friendly and happy to explain the menu, but we were left waiting for the bill for some time.

Kat's verdict: the beer list isn't going to wow any hardened CAMRA members, but it makes a change from Cobra and the food was mostly good. I'd come back if I was in the area.
