Pub in Bexley.

It's a very traditional backstreet local; a small, U-shaped room wrapped around a wooden gantried bar. Windows are leaded and dimpled, tables are dark varnished wood, and seating is a mix of low stools, banquettes, and upright chairs, all upholstered in burgundy. A patterned carpet on the floor gives way to wipe-clean lino around the bar.

Vintage photos of the local area hang on the walls, including one of the pub circa 1908. There's a dartboard to one side of the bar, and a flatscreen to the other. A reasonably-sized beer garden offers outdoor seating.

Kake visited on a Saturday afternoon in December 2017. There were quite a few people in when I arrived a little before 2pm, most of them watching football on the flatscreen TV, but it quietened down significantly after the football finished. Only one of the three handpumps was on, with Abbot Ale (£1.90/half).

Accessibility: A large step to get in. Toilets not checked.
