Comment added by david barber: soho silks, is in my view, the FINEST SILK EMPORIUM shop in all london, despite comments of others. their range of fabrics, particularly their taffetas are out of this world. i purchased several lots for some of my fashion designs that got made up, with the results that my designs caused stunned sensations. the owner and her daughter, with whom i am on nodding terms, and their staff, have a reputation and quality of service that is second to none. if they can get the fabric you want in 24 hours, they will. you can be assured of a very warm and friendly welcome, very knowladgeable staff. please do not walk out in a huff, if you think you are being ignored and kept waiting. sometimes, the staff are very busy, and if one person is only on duty, through no fault of their own, staff sickness, on leave etc, he or she are doing their best and will attend to your requirements as soon as they are able to. i think the staff are working miricles in this economic down turn, and i hope and pray this wonderful shop will not fold. london will be all that much poorer if it does. |
