Pub in Walthamstow, in the Good Beer Guide.

Refurbished and reopened in late 2012, this is now an expansive space with a mix of sofas and upright chairs and tables. A feature wall near the entrance has William Morris wallpaper and a couple of mirrors. There's some outside seating at the back.

There are eight handpumps on the bar, which on our September 2013 visit had Highland Brewing Company Island Hopping (£1.75/half), Burton Bridge Brewery GD, Blindman Buff Bitter, Arundel Summer Daze, Kelburn Red Smiddy, Goose Eye Brewery Bronte Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord, and Sharp's Doom Bar. The staff member on duty was happy to tell us about the ales, and offered us tasters.

According to a sign seen outside in September 2013, food is served noon-10pm Mon-Fri, noon-9pm Sat, and noon-8pm Sun, with a regular menu photo supplemented by lunch specials photo.

A sausage roll from the bar snack menu (£2.75) photo was tasty but not very sausage-roll-like; it was huge and consisted almost entirely of the sausage component, with very little pastry. Chips (also £2.75) came skin-on, accompanied by ketchup and house-made garlic mayonnaise (with large chunks of raw garlic in).

According to signs seen in September 2013, there's a quiz from 8pm on Tuesdays and live jazz from 8:30pm on the third Sunday of the month. According to their Twitter account, they have a bookable function room.

Accessibility: No step to get in, but there are two steps to the ladies' toilets.
