[[bob]] went for a meal in the restaurant on a Friday evening in March 2008. They were quite busy, and it took about 10 minutes before they were ready to seat me. During this time I was sat in the bar area with a pint of Guinness (£3.30). Once I ordered, the food was pretty quick to come. |

The calamari strips with teriyaki sauce(£5.49) <small>[http://flickr.com/photos/rjw1/2350844932/ photo]</small> were fine. The salad could have been better dressed though. It also had the world's largest slice of cucumber in it. I then had the homemade steak and kidney pie (£12) <small>[http://flickr.com/photos/rjw1/2350881588/ photo]</small> which was very large and very tasty apart from the two large bits of kidney (although I suppose some people like that). The pie committed no [[FAQ|heresy]] although the pastry was a bit too flaky for my liking. The chips were fine, but the vegetables were uninspiring. A one-litre bottle of still mineral water cost £3.99. I was offered the chance to have it in an ice bucket but declined. |
