Kake visited on a Friday afternoon; there were a few other customers, but it wasn't exactly packed. Friendly service. Traditional interior. Piped music was in evidence (Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd), but it wasn't annoyingly loud. They have a bar billiards table, and this page suggests they also have other games like shove ha'penny. There's a beer garden out the back (with a cycle rack) and a few benches out the front.
Thai food available evenings Tuesday-Saturday, according to the 2008 Good Beer Guide. They also do posh crisps (Salty Dog, 80p/packet).
