Randomness Guide to London - Differences between Version 8 and Version 7 of George And Devonshire, W4 2QE

Contents are identical

The George & Devonshire is the oldest pub in Chiswick and the only example with an old-style public bar separate from the saloon bar. It is a Fuller's pub on the Hogarth roundabout a stone's throw from the Griffin Brewery;the closest pub other than the brewery tap.

The beer is predictably good, looked after by an award-winning cellarman, and the 3 main Fuller's ales (Chiswick, London Pride and ESB) seem to always be on. They also have regular guest beers from non-Fuller's breweries (e.g. Brakspear Bitter in January 2007)

They do food, including sandwiches at lunchtime and a full menu with tapas in the evening. (The Good Beer Guide says no food on Sundays, but this is not correct.)

• Fresh, quality food at reasonable prices • Food served noon – 3pm; 6 – 8pm Mon - Wed and 6 – 9pm Thurs – Sat • Function room for social events with solid wood floor for dancing • Art exhibition space available • Regular music nights • Good location for filming, auditions etc. • Secluded garden area • Custom-built outdoor smoking area • CAMRA listed real ale
