Comment added by Anonymous: The cafe believe it or not, actually used to be an estate agents for around 15 years. The upstairs was the office and all the gorgeous rooms downstairs were merely used as storage! When Michele & Kevin took over the shop and converted it into The Toad, the process took around 9 months - half this time was spent clearing rubbish from the rooms and the garden - the rubbish in the garden was so high that it was plilling over the walls!! Remarkable use of the space.

As of February 2008, dinner is £10 for two courses or £12 for three. Starters might include salmon mousse or globe artichokes with aioli dip; mains could include rump steak with potato wedges or mushroom lasagne; dessert choices might include chocolate torte or strawberries and cream (yes, in February...). We've not sampled this yet though.
