Branch of the grilled chicken chain at Elephant and Castle. Nando's is Portuguese-themed and originated in South Africa according to their web site. It is very unlikely to be authentically Portuguese.
The Nando's experience seems to involve a lot of queuing. You queue up to get given a table and the menu. You queue again to place and pay for your order. You collect your own cutlery and fill up your unlimited soft drink. After some time your food is brought to your table. If you want a dessert you queue up again.
secretlondon visited this branch one Wednesday afternoon in March 2009. She queued for about 5 to 10 minutes both times and noticed there was a queue out the door when she left (at around 4pm). She therefore wonders what it is like at peak times.

There was background music in theme and a lot of wood in the decor. Accessibility and toilets not checked.
