This former factory building has been taken over by The Blues Kitchen, due to open May 2014.

A large open bar in a former factory building in Shoreditch.

Inside, the layout is strikingly open-plan, with a large bar in the middle of the space and tables around the four walls, large booths with plenty of seating for those around them. There are additional tables set out around the room during the day (though I'd imagine they would be cleared away for the evenings).

This is primarily a bar and club venue, with an eclectic variety of music being played here throughout the week, which is all available on the website. Plenty of draught lagers and ciders are available (no ales), with more available bottled.

However, during the day it also functions more as a cafe/diner, the menu focusing on basic bar grill fare. Food is served 11am-4pm and 5:30pm-10pm Monday to Friday, 11am-9pm Saturday, and 11am-6pm Sunday. Ewan's vegetarian burger with chips (there's an option of chips or salad, either comes to around £8) was unexpectedly excellent, with a large and tasty vegetarian patty on a grilled posh bun, along with a reasonably number of well-cooked chunky chips. A full set of condiments was set out as well.
