This is a licensed cafe in the Whitechapel Art Gallery photo in Whitechapel. It's right next to one of the exits from Aldgate East Station.

secretlondon went here one lunchtime for a meeting. It is very hard to find within the gallery — it is on the mezzanine level and you have to go through a gallery and up some back stairs. There is also a dining room downstairs which is a restaurant.

It is quite small — perhaps a dozen tables. They sell sandwiches and hot and cold drinks and had quiche and salad on the day I went. I had a sandwich and a bottle of water which came to about £5. There was no background music and toilets are presumably in the gallery itself. It was light and pleasant.

Accessibility: Step-free access from the street via a staff-operated lift.
