A French rotisserie restaurant in South Kensington, next door to the Zetland Arms and a couple of minutes walk from South Kensington Station.
Something like a French version of Nando's, but with table service and (in this reviewer's opinion) tastier food. The menu centres on roast chicken, served with a small jug of delicious gravy, with a selection of optional side dishes. Gratin Dauphinois is probably the best of these: a pretty good stab at the dish, with tasty but arguably-heretical grilled cheese on top. It's not quite as good as it was when your reviewer first tried it a couple of years ago though. The chicken, however, is beautifully roasted. Half a chicken and a side dish costs a highly reasonably £10.75.
If you don't fancy chicken, they can do you a lamb steak, or with four hours notice, a whole leg of lamb, enough for 5-6 people, for £49. There are also a selection of sandwiches, or a couple of Spanish omelette options. Vegetarians have a smaller choice, limited to soup (varies daily), a grilled baguette with cheese and tomatoes, or a Spanish omelette. The vegetarian with us pronounced the lentil soup to be the best she'd ever had.
They do takeaway, with free delivery for orders over £10 within a c.5 mile radius. Delivery hours are noon-3pm and 6pm-10:30pm Monday to Saturday, and noon-10:30pm Sunday.
Verdict: Excellent value, particularly if you fancy chicken...
