Along with [[Clapham North Station]], it's one of only two stations on the Tube network that still use an underground in-tunnel island platform (a single platform serving two tracks, one on each side; not uncommon on the network e.g. at [[Barons Court Station]] but they're usually above-ground). This platform is quite narrow so can be a bit scary when crowded. <b>Note:</b> Clapham Common Station will be exit-only at peak times (7am-11am and 4pm-7:30pm Mon-Fri) between Monday 14 April 2008 and the end of June 2008, due to escalator refurbishment work (<small>Source: [http://groups.google.com/group/uk.transport.london/msg/178a8dbd758eccc0 uk.transport.london]</small>).
