Famous curry place off Commercial Road in Whitechapel.

It can seat quite a few people. On a Thursday lunchtime, they had no problem seating 14 people without a booking. On another visit on a Friday evening we had a reservation for 7pm, and were the first group in the 100+ seating area upstairs, but it got busy (with a lot of ambient noise) within an hour.

Very cheap; we had a lot and came out at £11 a head. Mains cost £5–6.50, starters no more than £2.50, and fresh rotis 50p. No booze but you can bring your own.

Bob says: It was very tasty. The sheek kebab and karahi gosht are particularly good. Medium is certainly tasty and not overpowering.

They have two other branches, one in Kentish Town and another in Norbury.

Comment added by James Duncan: I love this place — by far my favorite curry place in East London. Off the beaten path a little, but who cares when that path is Brick Lane...
